What Are the 10 Most Anticipated Returning Fall Shows?
NCIS, Fringe and Glee are the most hotly anticipated returning fall shows, according to TVGuide.com's TV Team research panel.
Fall TV: Get scoop on all your favorite returning shows
The shows were the top picks in a survey conducted Aug. 9-15 that included 3,547 of the approximately 10,000 members of the research panel.
NCIS, which ended last season with Gibbs' father being targeted by a drug cartel, tops the list for the second year in a row. Fringe's finale introduced the idea that this season will take place in two different universes, and Glee ended with Sue Sylvester being impressed enough with the Gleeks' moxie to keep glee club around.
Check out the premiere dates for new and returning fall shows
The 10 most anticipated shows are:
1. NCIS (CBS)
2. Fringe (Fox)
3. Glee (Fox)
4. Castle (ABC)
5. Bones (Fox)
6. Chuck (NBC)
7. The Big Bang Theory (CBS)

Scoring well but not quite making the top 10 were CBS' The Good Wife, ABC's Modern Family, the CW's The Vampire Diaries, Fox's House and FX's Sons of Anarchy.

Just heard back from #Chuck co-creator Chris Fedak- he says NBC will be promoting Chuck but is trying to prioritize new show launches.

I had a wonderful lunch with Chuck co-creator Chris Fedak on the second day of my L.A. trip last fall… he was very generous with his time, and told me all about how he got started, and how he came up with the idea for Chuck.
We’ve had him on the podcast a few times, as part of the Wonder-Con panel and press room in early 2010, and the panel and press room from Comic-Con in July, 2010.
However, we’ve never had him do a one-on-one phone interview… until now! And this time, we’re taking your questions! What would you like to ask the co-creator of Chuck?
The floor is open… until Sunday, September 12th, at 11:59pm EST. Send your questions to mail@chuckpodcast.com, or follow Gray on Twitter and ask in a tweet!
I can’t guarantee every question will be asked, but I’ll do my best. I will assume it’s OK to use your first name when I ask your question, unless you say otherwise. Also, please feel free to let me know the city and state where you live, if you want me to mention it when I ask your question.
Thanks,
Gray.

Cancellation Watch Pre-Season Predictions: Are Human Target, V, and Medium Goners?
Cancellation Alert – Moderate:
Chuck (NBC) – This show lives on the edge and seems to thrive there. And the impressive lineup of guest stars should draw some extra viewers this year. Should NBC’s prospects improve this season and the network’s overall ratings rise, then that might work against Chuck. But if they stay solidly in fourth place, then expect this one to stick around.

Huh? Sept. 27 Episode of ‘Chuck‘ Will Compete With ‘The Event‘
Chuck vs. The Event? Sort of. An article by our friend Brian Stelter at the New York Times covering NBC’s “best hope,” The Event notes a scheduling maneuver I hadn’t picked up on.
Both Chuck and The Event premiere on September 20 on NBC. But at 8pm on September 27, at the same time the second episode of Chuck will air, NBC Universal will run an encore of the first episode of The Event on six of NBC Universal’s cable channels: Syfy, Oxygen, Bravo, Sleuth, Chiller and Universal HD.
I know a lot of fans will just add this to the list of carping at NBC ranging from “NBC didn’t promote Chuck” to “NBC should’ve given Chuck a better time slot.”
The reality is, whether some fans are willing to accept it or not is that Chuck is scheduling spackle for NBC. I’m a Chuck fan, but I don’t blame NBC here. NBC knows what happens if they constantly promote the hell out of Chuck for an episode:- it will pull about a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating if fairly massively marketed.
But they also know what happens for the subsequent episodes that aren’t heavily promoted: it goes down to somewhere around a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating (and sometimes lower).
NBC is looking for shows that will hold up better after the initial massive marketing push. To that end, NBC seems to be putting a lot of its eggs in The Event basket. Indeed, the initial marketing push for The Event as noted in Brian Stelter’s article is heavy as NBC looks “to make ‘The Event’ the media event of the season.”
For that, and other reasons many are predicting that The Event will be this year’s Flash Forward.
Will the September 27 move make a difference?
While I wouldn’t predict the simulcast of The Event’s pilot encore on six cable channels will mean that much for either Chuck’s ratings or The Event’s 9pm ratings, if Chuck dips in its second episode don’t be surprised to hear some Chuck fans use The Event simulcast as an excuse.
I doubt that will be a valid excuse, but while sometimes sibling rivalry is imaginary, even if the Chuck fans are paranoid… NBC really does love The Event more.

Is NBC buying CHUCK? Partnering with WB? Back 6?
On the website, TVByTheNumbers.com, a verified insider posted this information:
paul80
1. If there was a pick up it would be 6 not 9
2.NBC/Comcast may be looking to buy CHUCK or partner with WB for syndcation.
3.The first 4 eps of CHUCK, will be some of the most action packed, fun shows they have produced since the first season. NBC is hoping to get 3 million male viewers to stick around for THE EVENT.
4. If THE EVENT does well, CHUCK will get a back 6.Up to this point, I have not heard anything to verify the info as current. However, CHUCK's chances of more episodes or renewal being tied to the success of THE EVENT makes total sense. As its lead-in, the best measure of its ability to help a show is if that show holds the viewers over to the next hour. IF accurate, that means CHUCK fans should make it a priority to watch THE EVENT every week.
The show getting a pickup of six instead of nine makes sense.
I had heard about a potential deal between NBC and WB for rights some time ago but had not heard anything recently. Now that this person has brought it up again, I will do some digging.... but I believe him as people tell me he has been right before.
So, what do you think? How does this make you feel? Will you be watching THE EVENT?

Tweet de Gray Jones (Chuck Vs The Podcast):
Chris Fedak told me it's coming this week, but new shows get higher priority. RT @RoziCanuti: so is @nbc ever going to promote #chuck?
