Like I said in my other Topic , i think that it's a good idea to have a topic all in English. We can speak about news, articles, actors, actresses , I don't know about spoilers .
Azuriel, do you think we can speak about spoilers ??
I don't speak fluent english but I think that the most important is to try to learn more expressions or vocabulary and try to be understood by others.
In this topic, everyone can talks, if somepeople think that they have not facility in English, you can even try.
Nobody judges you!!!
So , we can start with a presentation introductionof ourselves , I mean, Age, City, what we are thinking about this forum and our level in English, may be..... it's an idea!
About the first subject, someone begins and we follow ! mdr lol

Correct !
As for me,
I am 20 , I come from Marseille !
I love this forum because we have very different personalities so we can have a good debate about certain subject.
I am " fouineuse chuck france " ,I try to give the more information that I have about episodes, or actors.
"More is used to compare something with something else
YOu can't use it for this sentence, you have to try to find another way to explain what you wanna say
I want to improve my english because I will take pass TOEIC and in september I'm going in an international business school Hotel and tourism management , so I need to have a good level in English because I will go in training in other countries like australia, england or The United States very soon.

For those who pass TOEIC exam there is a little (small would be more useb than little for that.... I think
) software (you can find it on peer to peer platform) which can help you.
It's like the actual exam with all categories. In wrinting As I write ("In writing is translated literally, and it doesn't work in that case
) my mini text I realise that I'm much better in understanding thatN expression
So excuse my poor english

Hors ligne

Yes, it's a little bit short, I think too, but I can't say more ^^
And, what is TOEIC ? I don't understand that...
You came come from Marseille? Where, exactly?

I'm ronniespirit, iI'm almost 18 (in about 2 months). I'm not too bad in english (my average in English class is about 18) even if I've never been to England (but i'm going to London in 3 weeks with my school!). Actually, I've been learning english for 6 years at school but I think the best way is to read all the articles you can find which deal with something you like in English, watch your movies and your series (TV) shows in English. I'm also lucky to know an English girl through via would me more used I think, but not hundred per cent sure the Internet with whom I chat almost everyday, it helps a lot.
Otherwise, I intend to live in England later. I'm fond of movies, series (It depends on what you wanna say, if it's "séries télé", it's TV shows), reading, video games and, of course, footy (I'd say soccer or football
), Arsenal's the shit man!

S*x chat, right ? xD
I think that's a good idea : it'll also improve my English too...
I'm OXY, 17 years old( in about 1month).
My English isn't so bad (or yes xD), so is my understanding..
Actually, watch movies/series TV shows in English helps me a lot x)
Well, that's all....
By the way, Paris is magic
Hors ligne

Well, Well, Well !!
I can notice that your english is very very good, i I saw this with your subtitles of course but it's cool to know that we can speak each other in English for to improve ourselves.
Pookie, I am interesting about in this software, can you give his its name ? and how to download it ?
Nova, Toeic is an exam which evaluates your english level in order to give a prouveof at employers or university of your capacity(I'd say English skills) in English.
Now when you say , I speak english a little bit or very well is not sufficient (I'd say "enough" instead of suficient) for internationale school or society, they want proovefs so when you take pass this exam you get points and this those or these points refeire to an english level .
Oh my god!! there are people who are surprised to see that they speak English better thatN they think thought, as for me ,I'm thinking that I have to work hard !!
I understand very good well articles or discussion or movies , I know words which are used but it's really complicated for me to describe a situation with this those or these same words and I don't understand why!
If I understand this those or these words, that means that I know this those or these words, so why I can't (can't I ! We do use the inversion in English way more often than in Frenchuse it them in my language! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Anyway, I am glad to see that people are enjoying my idea, it's cool , I thought that it was totally stupid and in fact it's not so (I would say "that much") much.

Now it's my turn!
I'm from Brussels and I'm 28 years old.
As I said in the presentation topic, I'm a Federal Agent* and I work for the Kingdom of Belgium!
When I have time (and money), I like to go sailing in Normandy or Brittany.
I'have a good passive knowledge of English (and Dutch) but when It's time to talk, It's another thing.
It's a little bit short but it's kind of late...
* In my country, it means state employee.

I love: " I am a federal agent...... it means state employee"
Very good !!
By the way, I know someone who really works for the government and wants to become a spy , more a secret agent that a spy but it's really not possible.
You can't take this decision, only the government or special agency can contact you for to pass the test .
you can spend your entire life with the dream to become a spy but the dream will never come true.

Personnaly, I know someone who works for "La sureté belge" but he can't say a lot of things about his work.
Two or three years ago, The belgian spy services (la Sureté) made a gigantic exam for people who wanted to become analyst... I think that more than 10.000 people tried to pass the exam.

Jeff: I hate Glee! I don't see its appeal at all.

I think you're far away from the reality and you really don't know what a spy is
TV doesn't show reality
Anyway !
First, every correction made in red comes from me
If I wanna become an English teacher, I'd better start now
So, let me introduce myself :
As you may know, my actual name is Mathieu (but in my virtual life, I'm called "Speculos" or "Tonton Bassa"
), I'm 18 (for 11 days
) , I'm studying English at the University of Arts of Limoges !
As I said before, I'd like to become teacher, but what I'd really love would be to pass French CAPES (but when I'm able to pass it, It's might not exist anymore ...
) , and to go teach in the USA !
About the forum, I do translate the English subs to permit to broadcast our own French subs
I'm also admin of a Counter Strike server and website
PS : And by the way, as I read my post, I realize that I do love emoticons

Hors ligne

We don't say to pass a test but to take a test. To pass a test means to actually succeed it.
Hors ligne
Yeah, but it can be used as "passer un exam" , but you're right, so I'm mistaken about that
sorry.
Hors ligne
Lol, Specu english teacher, why am I not surprised? When I was reading your correction, it's the first thing which came to my mind. You were correcting as a teacher.
Here is a couple of things about me: I'm Nicolas, 24. I live in Brittany near to Vannes. The ones who follow soccer might recognized this city coz we are in the French League Cup final.
I've been studying foreign languages for 3 years in the University of Rennes. I got my degree but I unfortunately did not find a job in my branch. So at present, I work in a supermarket where I take care of fruits and vegetables. I don't really enjoy htat but I have to work so...
But if there is a thing that I enjoy, it's this forum. As somebody tells it before, the main quality of this forum is the fact there is a lot of different personnalities and ages.
Hors ligne

Specu , just one word: Thanks!!
It's really cool to have a personal teacher !
About " more" , it's true that I have difficulty for to make a difference between many, much, more, any ... But I will work on it!
Edit for Sunrise : We use "to" to describe an aim. "For" is used for "I came for you" for example

Hors ligne
Hello What a great idea to have done a topic like this!
What can I say about me? My name is Siham, it means "arrow" in Arabic. I live in Nancy for my studies but I'm from Contrex (the water's bottel city) in les Vosges (88). I'm nearly 25 years old (in july), and I hope to become an historic history teacher .
I took the CAPES three times, but never passed it unfortunately, and if it's not good this year I will stop because I'm fed up of with the recruitment system which focuses more in the intellectual side than in the educational one of the job. And I'm irritated against all the reforms in the Department of Education, you can agree or not... It can be a subject of discussion if you want? Or maybe it's too conflictual? As you want...
By the way, good luck Speculos if you want to take the CAPES, but I'm not afraid for you, I can tell that you are on the right way ...
Anyway, let us change subject.
When I was in highschool, I had good average in english (nearly 16) and I continued to study it at the university because I think it's a very useful language as well for the journeys as to watch TV shows. And I like to speak english with my friends or with my former teachers that I see in the highschool where I work. Indeed, to pay my studies, I work for 3 years as "assistante of education" in my former highschool, it's a good job when you like being surrounded by high school students.
What else ? Oh, I play basket-ball since i'm 8 years old even if I'm not tall at all, and I love watching soccer games specially when Marseille won 3-1 against Paris...
So go OM --> Straight ahead the goal ("Droit au but")!!! Sorry Azu and others ...
And of course, I spend a good party of my time on watching TV shows in my computer, what allows permits (allow is used when people allow to other people to do sth
, I think so
) me to improve my English and especially to learn again the good pronunciations. What's more, I enjoy reading this forum which is really great and where the members are very friendly !! In fact, I like playing the quizz in the chat room and I hope there will be more members who will connect there from now.

I realize that I'm more more talkative when it is necessary to write in English than when it's in french, so I will stop for now and I hope my life and my speech did not annoy you.
I wish you a good afternoon, see you soon in the forum.

Well, thank you Sisi for your encouragements! But I'm not sure the CAPES will still exist when I'm able to take it ! Moreover, the government try to set up a "Masterisation du CAPES", so I'll probably need to study two more years
, to probably be jobless after that
!
I'd really love to be "assistant d'éducation" , but I don't really know how it works, or how you become assistant. But I know that I had an assistant when I was in last grade, and it's really cool to have someone closer (speaking of age mostly) to you than the other teachers, and to can share things that you wouldn't share with your actual teachers !!
Anyway
PS : I think, for the OM, Straight to the Goal would works !! But actually, I'm not really sure that OM players are straight

Hors ligne
Hey specu, it's great you take time to corect our mistakes.
But given that I wanna teach French in England or teach English in France too, I'm gonna correct yours too
So, when you said "I do translate the English subs to permit to broadcast our own French subs", I'd say 'to enable' instead of 'to permit'.
And you can't say 'to can', you have to say 'to be able to' instead.
I checked with my English mate: you can use 'footy', it's the colloquial way to say 'football' in fact. And you can either say 'to know somebody through the internet' or 'to know somebody via the internet', both work.
There are also some mistakes you didn't notice on the others' posts but I'm not blaming you, you make the effort to correct us, that's something at least.
Anyway, it's nice so many people try to speak in this topic, it will be more bustling!

Hey Sisi. Of course we can debate over governement's issues. It has already been done and this community is also here for sharing ideas and opinions
.

Ronnie you're abolsutely right (you must say this sentence with an Indo accent
) , and when I re-read myself about "to can", I want to choke myself!
Anyway, Azu : the " 's " is mostly used for actual people, so you have to say "government issues"
